The last day of the camp

The last day has finally come. Some if not most of us were reluctant togo and wanted to stay but we have to go.We bid farewell to our trainers and wished them good luck for thier A level results which they will recieve on the day.It was a truly an emotional moment for all of us.But before that happened we sang our own class cheers, had some fun games and had our breakfasts. We boarded on the bus that led us back to school and we tasted the sweet taste of victory after four days and three nights!

Sec 2 Camp Third Day

Today, we went for the Bukit Timah Nature Walk this morning. Before we went for the walk, we learnt about biofuel, how it is made, and how does it help with our environment. During the walk, our class had a great time learning about the Dairy Farm Nature Reserve, its history, and the many varieties of plants and animals that lived there. As we walked along the nature trail, the trainer stopped many times to show and explain certain variety of flora. We really learned a lot from this lovely middle aged lady who really enjoyed nature. We took many different trails, some even across streams and upslope. We finally came to the visitors centre where a lot of exhibits were displayed including large charts with pictures of the old days. There was even a stuffed tiger with its teeth still intact. After viewing the place, it was time for us to reurn to our base camp. The whole trip took about 4 hours but it was interesting and educational for us as we would not have another chance to go to this type of place again.  - by Brian Ej Amio

Our afternoon activity was 'telematch' but before we could start playing, a powerful thunderstorm spoiled everything. So instead, we went to a large room to prepare for the night campfire. We practised our songs, cheers and also our campfire performance. We had so much fun as our two instructors motivated and encouraged us to sing better. After the rain had stopped, we attempted the 'great wall'. We really had to put our heads together to think of ways of getting our group members over the wall. At first we were worried because we had two 'heavy weights' in our group. After much discussion, we finally found a method of overcoming the problem and got everyone over the wall. Hey! we did it with good team work & team spirit. by Siti

Second Day of Camp

In the morning, we learned something new about tent-pitching. We managed to pitch the ten-man tent in about ten minutes because we just had to assemble all the parts together. Then, the trainers told us to re-pitch the tent in a handicap way. We were made to join our hands together in groups of 3 or 4 and then pitch the tent. Although it was difficult, we managed to pitch the tent and learned that teamwork is one of the key factors for success.-Jenell

In the afternoon, we did the high-elements challenging ropework obstacles courses. When we first saw the obstacles, our jaws dropped because all were so high and looked difficult. For example the flying fox,abseiling,rock-climbing, obstacles, etc. At first, most of us were hesitant to try out the activities as we had a fear of falling from heights. Eventually, we managed to embrace that fear as Mr Bala agreed to give all of us a treat if we completed the activities. Maybe the fact that the instructor humiliated us by saying that we are lousy made him more incensed to prove that we are the best. At the end of the day, we learned more about confidence-building skills. We are confident that we will be able to overcome future challenges in our lives as we have learned them in this camp. -Liyana Muthalib

I feel that the camp is really exciting so far and that it is a good oppurtunity for us to bond together.
The leaders are very nice and fun to be with and the games so far is really awesome.
Though I hope the food is nicer even though it is better than I expected, and why is the sleeping time so late and waking up could be a little later for us. I hope the camp will be more anticipating! - Rachel

At first I felt that the food was going to be appetising, but things usually don't turned out the way we expect. After tasting the food I found out the food was edible and not as horrible as we think. The events in the afternoon both fun except was too long. Instead of wasting the time, the instructors could teach us cheers, songs, etc. The team building activity made us to think & work together. It also teaches us many things such as groupwork, cooperation and trust.I believe that tomorrow will be a better and brighter day as we will be doing the high rope activities and even the flying fox, whoopie, cant wait to try it once more.-Sin Yang
